In developing the Sardinas website, my objective was to create a seamless online presence that reflects the establishment’s unique blend of dining, beverages, and floral services. Leveraging WordPress’ robust ecosystem, I implemented specific technologies to meet the client’s goals effectively.
Design & Development
I built the site using the Hello theme and Elementor Pro, ensuring optimal performance across all devices. The Elementor templates were customised to align with Sardinas’ brand identity, incorporating their colour scheme, typography, and imagery to create a cohesive and engaging user experience.
Plugins & Functionality
To enhance the website functionality, I integrated several key plugins:
- WooCommerce: Implemented to facilitate the online shop, allowing customers to purchase pantry items and other products directly from the website.
- Instagram Feed: Displayed Sardinas’ Instagram content on the homepage, providing dynamic and up-to-date visual engagement.
Content Structuring
The website’s content is organised into clear sections, each accessible via the main navigation menu:
- Food: Showcases the dining options available, with enticing descriptions and images.
- Beverages: Highlights the selection of wines and other drinks, reflecting the ever-evolving offerings.
- Flowers: Features the daily availability of seasonal, Australian-grown flowers, emphasising the florist aspect of Sardinas.
- Shop: Provides an online storefront for pantry items and other products, integrated seamlessly with WooCommerce for smooth transactions.
- Contact: Offers essential contact information and an easy-to-use form for customer inquiries.
Acknowledgement of Country
In line with Sardinas’ values, I included an Acknowledgement of Country on the homepage, paying respect to the Traditional Owners of the land.
Performance Optimisation
To ensure fast loading times and a smooth user experience, I optimised images and implemented caching solutions. Additionally, the website is hosted on a reliable server, providing consistent uptime and security.
