I’ve just had the opportunity to head down the Great Ocean Road for BeachPress. We stayed at Seacroft, a quaint former monastery, to hang out with a group of other WordPress developers for just under three days. Some of the group were WordPress core contributors, plugin developers, and theme developers (like me). Most came with a pet project they wanted to spend time focussing on, myself included. I worked on an email signature generator and the redesign of my website, both of which went very well.
We all had a wonderful time bonding over WordPress, complaining about the cold weather, going out for dinner, and having a rousing sing-along after a few quiet drinks. Breakfast on Sunday was a feast. A few people presented on varied topics, and we all helped each other with WordPress and business tips & tricks.
I’m saving up my brownie points with my wife for the next one. Can’t wait!
